  • Consultation
    • By telephone, or through the Internet, it is possible to make an appointment for consultation.
    • By visiting the clinic on the scheduled date, you can have a check up with a doctor and get consultation.
    • It is necessary to inform the doctor of any diseases, side effects to drugs, any allergies in the past or in the present and experiences with general anesthesia in the past.
    • If you decide to get surgery, then make an appointment for surgery and examination.
  • Examination and notice before surgery
  • To get safe anesthesia and surgery, you should get a general check up before surgery.
    In the case that health conditions are not conducive to surgery, or a patient has a high fever or bad cough due to the flu, the surgery should be postponed. Also, it is recommended that you keep a regular and balanced diet.

  • Notice before surgery
  • 1. It is necessary to inform the doctor of any diseases (chronic diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, psychotherapy, hepatitis, kidney), side effects to antibiotics, allergies in the past or in the present and experiences with general anesthesia in the past.

    2. Starting from seven days before surgery, you must not take any type of medicine (aspirin, oriental medicine, vitamin supplements, nutritional supplements, hepatic medicine). (Only medicine for blood pressure, diabetes, anemia should be taken continuously.)
    - Medicine can induce unexpected bleeding or hematoma etc.

    3. Eight hours before surgery, you must not eat or drink anything. (It is possible to drink some water to take medicine for blood pressure and other medicines) - in case that food is left in the stomach, it could be pneumonia that food could be moved to lung during anesthesia .

    4. Smoking cigarettes could hinder recovery and cause side effects such as inflammation, so you should give up smoking from at least two weeks before surgery and up to three weeks after surgery. In addition, never get drunk on the day before the date of surgery.

    5. On the date of surgery, clothes with a front opening is convenient to wear after surgery.

    6. It is good to be accompanied by a guardian, but if visiting alone, driving is dangerous after surgery, so have somebody else drive you. It is possible to move but it is dangerous and bleeding may occur after surgery.

    7. Do not bring accessories or any other valuables.

    8. On the date of surgery, take a bath with soap and shampoo before coming to the clinic and do not apply any make up.

    9. Any nail polish should be removed.

    10. Armpit hair, which is the closest to the area of surgery, should be removed.

    11. Regarding monthly cycles, the period of menstruation should be avoided to reduce incidence of swelling or bruising. However, if your cycle has any overlap with the appointed date, it will not hinder the result of surgery much, so there is no need to worry about it. Taking hormones could affect the size of the mammary gland, and thus the result of surgery, so taking hormone should be prohibited.

  • Making documents and design at the very day of surgery
    • Visit clinic at the appointed time, and check the surgery consent forms and preparations.
    • Disrobing and changing into an operating gown, and wearing support stockings to prevent thrombosis.
    • Take a picture before surgery and make the design.
    • Get a consultation with a doctor, and listen to the explanation about the result of surgery.
    • Receive an examination before surgery by the anesthesiology department and then receive anesthesia and surgery.
    • Move to recovery room and leave the hospital about 3~4 hours after surgery.
  • Notice after surgery
    • Due to the oxygen tube which is used for anesthesia, there may be a little bit of neck pain after surgery. However, with lots of coughing, the phlegm in the lungs should be removed quickly, then the recovery would occur faster. (Clearing throat activates lung function.)
    • Neck should not be dried by using a humidifier.
    • Do abdominal breathing. It relieves tension of breast muscle and helps to ease pain.
    • It is good to completely rest for about 48 hours after receiving the surgery, and it is recommended to not use your arms for about one week.
    • Itchiness may occur while the surgical parts are still recovering, at this time, never scratch or rub. The area of surgery could be changed or become untied.
    • Regarding the wearing of bras and scar management after surgery, hospital instructions should be followed.
    • During the first seven days after surgery, it is necessary to visit the hospital about 3~ 4 times to check on the antibiotic treatment, sterilization, and progress.
    • Taking a shower or light bath is possible after 4~5 days, and one week after surgery the suture will be removed.
    • Alcoholic beverages and smoking cigarettes could induce inflammation, so it is prohibited for about 2~3 weeks.
    • As for steaming, sauna, and aggressive exercise, they can all expand blood vessels and cause bleeding, and change the shape of the breasts, so you should be careful for three weeks. Walking is possible but it is not good to walk fast for a long time.
    • For two weeks, wearing anything heavy should be avoided (things more than 5kg) along with strong pulling.
    • It is recommended that you keep up with regular check up dates, and monitor the surgical status.
    • Follow the doctor’s instructions about prohibited activities.
  • Convalescence and care
    • For 48 hours after surgery, it is best to rest and about 2~3 days after, it is possible to lead a normal daily life.
    • During the first seven days after surgery, you should visit the hospital about 3~ 4 times to check up on antibiotic treatment, sterilization, and progress.
    • Regarding the wearing of a bra and scar management after surgery, the instructions of the hospital should be followed. Weight-loss after surgery helps scar management greatly. Gaining weight makes scars wide, and it can cause more scar to form, so it is recommended that you lose weight after surgery.
    • As for wearing a bra after surgery, it is best to use a special bra recommended by the hospital, and to wear it for at least about 6~8 months. (Two years is highly recommended.)
